Amy’s Kitchen evacuated during early morning fire

Pocatello fire crews responded to reports of a fire that broke-out at Amy’s Kitchen early Wednesday morning.

Fire officials confirmed it happened at around 3 a.m. when a fire started in the HVAC unit outside of the building.

Although the building luckily did not sustain any fire damage, the large HVAC unit blew smoke into the facility, causing the building to evacuate.

Pocatello Fire Chief David Gates said everyone from the company was helpful in getting out of the building quickly, while helping to get the fire out shortly after it started.

He said the majority of time spent at the scene was from fire crews trying to make sure the facility was cleared of any smoke.

Amy’s Kitchen is now safe, and the fire department has turned the operation back over to the company while fire officials investigate the cause.

Nobody was hurt.
