Suspicious postcard under investigation

Idaho Falls Police are investigating a suspicious postcard sent by mail to the parent of a District 91 school student.Details of the card were not immediately disclosed, but in an e-mail to its patrons, the school district said it made a vague reference to a weapon at a school. They said it did not include any specific threats against any specific schools or students.

According to the district, the Idaho Falls Police Department does not believe the postcard is connected to threats reported at Blackfoot High School this week.

The district said it was continuing to work with police and would provide additional updates.

Bonneville County Prosecutor Daniel Clark said, “Threatening anyone with a firearm or other dangerous weapon on school grounds is a crime and may be subject to investigation and prosecution.”
