Police ask for help identifying man who stole money from Broulim’s

The Rexburg Police Department reports a man wearing Levi’s and dark jacket with a dark green baseball cap stole money from the Rexburg Broulim’s at 1:26 p.m. on March 16.According to police, the man entered the grocery store and went directly to the customer service counter and requested smaller bills for $600.

The man was informed $300 was the most the store could change. After he was given $300 in twenties, officials say the man then became upset and stated he wanted a cashier’s check.

The clerk took the twenties back from the suspect, and the man immediately left the store.

Broulim’s came up $120 short on this transaction.

In a video, the suspect was seen concealing some of the money in his right hand.

According to police, the man had attempted the same thing at the Broulim’s store in Rigby and Ammon.

Police did not know if those stores lost money.
