Closure of haunted house won’t “slaughter” DARE

Even though Dr. Slaughter’s Haunted House is closing April 14, the Idaho Falls/Bonneville County DARE Board of Directors says it has enough funding to continue operations for the next couple of years until a new funding source is found.

The Haunted House has helped finance the DARE program for the past 18 years. But, as founder Darrell Wagner retires, Dr. Slaughter’s will stage its final weekend Friday April 13 and Saturday April 14, from 7 p.m. to midnight both days.

The DARE Board said the program has had strong community support that maintained the program on behalf of the Idaho Falls School District 91, Bonneville School District 93, the Idaho Falls Police Department, and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
