Hillcrest High School student gets surprised with scholarship

Imagine being surprised with $2,000. That’s what happened to one lucky Hillcrest High School student.

One of the Deans from Idaho State University gave a scholarship to Guadalupe Carrillo. She is one of at least 28 students. Students had to apply and have a high GPA. They say they love being able to give out these scholarships

“It’s pretty impressive, they’re surprised and they know their community and the university support them,” says Kandi Turley-Ames, Dean of College of Arts and Letters.

Last year ISU gave out 14 scholarships and some of those students even got additional ones.
