Rexburg man arrested after domestic fight

A Rexburg man faces felony assault charges after a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of North 2nd West.

Rexburg Police were called to a domestic argument between Jared Lee Mickelsen, 32, and his wife at around 10:34 a.m. Wednesday.

According to reports, Mickelsen’s wife called a neighbor for help. The 44-year-old neighbor found Mickelsen on top of his wife in their vehicle and attempted to pull them apart. Mickelsen then struck the man in the face several times, breaking multiple facial bones.

The unidentified man was still hospitalized Thursday.

Mickelsen was arrested on charges of felony battery, causing great bodily harm and misdemeanor disturbing the peace.
