Video shows dead geese falling from sky – likely struck by lightning
Cell phone video captures dead geese as they fall from the sky during a lightning storm in Idaho Falls Saturday. Reporter Linda Larsen was getting shots of the lightning that preceded Saturday ‘ s disastrous hail storm when she noticed something falling from the sky into a parking lot across the street from the TV station on Yellowstone Highway.
Later that day about 50 geese were found dead in that parking lot. Then Monday another 60 dead geese were found on the roof of a nearby warehouse, for a total of more than 100 dead geese.
Fish and game believes the flock was struck by lightning. Local News 8 editor Jeffrey Larsen Tuesday was able to enhance the video giving a closer look the geese. Watch the attached video showing the birds falling and Linda Larsen ‘ s account of the event.
