2 vehicle injury crash north of Rigby

Idaho State Police reports a two-vehicle injury crash occurred at the intersection of Yellowstone Highway and 4300 East north of Rigby around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Israel Trejo Torres, 57, of Rexburg was northbound on Yellowstone Highway in a 2004 GMC pickup, and Jace Weekes, 20, of Rigby was westbound on 4300 E in a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup.

According to ISP, Torres failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and collided with Weekes which forced his Chevy into the canal on the north side of the highway.

Torres was wearing his seat belt, and Weekes was not.

A private vehicle transported Torres to Madison Memorial in Rexburg.
