Idaho GOP candidates report latest congressional fundraising

Campaign finance reports show Republican Russ Fulcher continues to lead the GOP pack in fundraising in the race for Idaho’s open 1st Congressional District.

According to sunshine reports released Monday, Fulcher raised roughly $141,000 between January and March. In total, he’s raised more than $408,000 since announcing his bid for the congressional seat

Former Attorney General and former Lt. Gov. David Leroy raised around $102,000 during the same period. Meanwhile, state GOP Reps. Luke Malek raised $55,600 and Christy Perry raised close to $12,000.

First-time political candidates Michael Snyder of Bonners Ferry reported securing nearly $41,000 and Alexander Gallegos of Nampa secured $53,000.

The 1st Congressional District seat has attracted a wide array of candidates ever since GOP U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador announced earlier this year he would leave Congress in 2018 to run for governor.
