Passenger life flighted to hospital after crash
UPDATE 7:10 P.M.: Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident around 4:00 P.M. with injuries.
A 2018 Dodge truck was parked and unattended partially in the roadway.
A Ford Taurus was traveling west on 500 N.
The Taurus was being driven by a 16 year old male, who was unable to see the Dodge truck due to smoke from a burning ditch causing very low visibility.
The teen hit the back of the truck.
The 16 year old driver had minor injuries, the passenger riding in the Taurus was taken by Life Flight to EIRMC with serious injuries.
The owner of the truck was cited.
The Jefferson County Sheriff was assisted by Central Fire and QRU, Idaho Falls ambulance and Life Flight.
ORIGINAL STORY:One person was life flighted to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck at 4270 E. 500 N. near Jefferson Hills Golf Course Thursday afternoon.
Officials said a man just finished burning a ditch bank and was trying to get his into his white pickup truck when a blue Taurus heading west on 500 N. was blinded by the smoke from the fire and struck the truck and the man.According to officials, the pickup driver is unharmed, but the passenger in the Taurus was life flighted to the hospital.
