Counterfeit bills passed at local malls

Idaho Falls Police Department reports an adult female passed five counterfeit $100 bills at JC Penney in the Grand Teton Mall in Idaho Falls over the weekend.

Officials said some of the bills were also accepted at the Pine Ridge Mall in Chubbuck.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, the IFPD and the stores where the bills were accepted are working together to gather images from surveillance footage.
