Motorcycle crash near Swan Valley

The Idaho State Police is investigating a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of an Idaho Falls woman Saturday.

The accident happened eastbound US 26 at milepost 371, west of Swan Valley, around 2:15 p.m. The crash was near the Conant Valley Boat Ramp.

43-year-old Ginger Colby, of Idaho Falls, was driving a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle when she failed to take a curve in the road and hit the guardrail.

She was separated from the bike and came to rest in the eastbound lane of travel and the bike came to rest on the westbound shoulder.

She was wearing a helmet and was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by ambulance. She died at the hospital later.

Both lanes we blocked for about an hour and a half.
