Woman charged, appears in court after turning herself in

Update 4/23/18 5:16 p.m.: An Idaho Falls woman police were looking for on Sunday was in court Monday.

Police say Tanisha Hill, who is also known as Tanisha Lazano, was charged for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an investigation found she fired four shots.

She is being held on $100,000 bond.

Charges are pending on the hit and run accident.

Update 8:45 p.m.: The woman and her son that Idaho Falls Police were looking for earlier Sunday is in custody.

Police say Tanisha Hill called and turned herself in, and that her 4-year-old son is safe. Hill was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on charges of aggravated assault related to the incident where she fired a gun. Charges relating to the hit and run are still pending. The IFPD wants to thank you all for your help in this matter.

Original Story: Idaho Falls police are searching for 39-year-old Tanisha Hill, who is believed to be armed and is likely to have her 4-year-old son with her.

At 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, IFPD responded to report of shots fired on the 1300 block of Paul Street. Minutes later, police were dispatched to a related call of a hit and run accident near Gallup St. and Woodruff Ave., where a tan Acura hit a fence, a shed and uprooted a stop sign. Police believe Hill is likely to be the suspect in both incidents.

Police obtained a search warrant for Hill’s residence. When police conducted the search in the early morning hours on Sunday, Hill was not inside.Police are prioritizing the safety of Hill’s 4 year old son and are asking the public to help locate Tanisha Hill and her 4 year old son.
