Cougar Softball dominates West Jefferson, advance to district title game

The Firth Cougars punched their ticket to the 2A district 6 title game after routing the West Jefferson Panthers.

Kelsey Cardenas and Mac led the way for Firth with 3 hits a piece.

Mac went 3 for 3 with a walk, including a home run in the first, and a single as part of a seven run 4th.

Kelly Cardenas rapped two doubles and a single while driving in three.

Firth stormed out of the gate early scoring 6 in the first inning and never looked back.

They scored again in the third, on a steal of home by Tyra Pancheri and Makiah Rogers scored on a error by Cardenas in right.

The Cougars scored 7 in the 4th inning, and scored 3 in the 5th to enforce the mercy rule.

West Jefferson will play the North Fremont Huskies on Friday at 3:00 P.M. at Tautphaus park.

The winner of that game will face Firth for the 2A District 6 title game.

Both teams in that game will be playing for the 6A spot in the state tournament.

Loser will have the 6B spot in the tournament.
