Maeck Center contract approved

Just hours after breaking ground for it, the Idaho Falls City Council Thursday night awarded a contract for construction of the new Maeck Education Center.

The $968,039 contract went to Petra, Incorporated of Meridian.

The project includes a 4,500 square foot education center for the Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park, including multi-use classrooms, offices, storage, break room, and restroom facilities.

The city expects the project to be complete around October.
