Civil air patrol searching for small plane missing in Idaho

Idaho’s Civil Air Patrol and other organizations are searching for a small plane that went missing on its way from Boise to McCall.

The Idaho Transportation Department says the four-seat Cessna 182 went missing sometime after leaving Boise at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The pilot, whose name has not been released, did not file a flight plan before the trip but officials say the most logical route between the two cities has been searched using radar and cell phone technology.

The plane’s Emergency Locator Transmitter has reportedly made intermittent transmissions.

Because no flight plan was filed, it’s not clear if more than one person was aboard the aircraft.

The National Transportation Safety Board will begin their investigation into the incident if wreckage is found. Search and rescue groups and the Idaho Transportation Department’s Division of Aeronautics are assisting in the search.
