ORIGINAL:

Fall River Electric is planning a power outage Monday that could last up to 12 hours for customers south of the Rexburg area.

Officials say the outage will affect customers in the area south of Rexburg as well as into Labelle and toward Ririe starting at 8 a.m.

Fall River Electric officials said the outage is mandatory so the main transmission pole belonging to Rocky Mountain Power that was damaged by a vehicle on Friday can be replaced. This transmission line feeds the Fall River Electric Rexburg substation.

Rocky Mountain Power reports the outage could last up to 12 hours.

Fall River Electric said crews will work to re-route some power so as few members as possible will be affected.

The outage is anticipated to affect several hundred households south of Rexburg.
