Two schools on brief lockdown during nearby police call

Idaho Falls Police have arrested Daniel Charboneau, 27, of Idaho Falls after an alleged aggravated assault.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Broadway at around 2:45 p.m. When police arrived, the man ran away with a knife in his hand. He was taken into custody about 15 minutes later near the intersection of Dale and Broadway.

Because of the vicinity of the incident, Eagle Rock Middle School and Ethel Boyes Elementary schools were advised to lock their doors. After the suspect was taken into custody, the lockdown ended about 10 minutes later.
