Students tour Idaho Falls Police Department

Ninty third grade students from Sunnyside Elementary School toured the Idaho Falls Police Department to learn about bike safety and Crime Scene Investigations Friday.

Sunnyside is the second school to meet the officers and more students from Idaho Falls School District 91 will be touring the station along with other areas of downtown Idaho Falls in the coming week.

“We don’t want them to be afraid of us if they’re ever in a bad situation. We want them to know that they can approach us. I think that little things like this help them know that we’re approachable people and that we’re here to help,” said Tyson Hummer, an Idaho Falls Patrol Officer.

IFPD offers tours to the public and many scout troops.
