New home library hosts grand opening

Today local kids got the chance to celebrate the love of reading. It was the grand opening of a home library called the “Lending Library.”

Lisa Heiss wants to get kids interested in reading. Kids were able to hang out with Spiderman and Poppy from “Trolls.”

“You have to be able to read and if they know how to read and love doing it then all the better,” says Heiss.

She has experience working with kids.

“I used to be a kindergarten teacher and I used to get excited when the kids would come up and read me a book.”

The kids were excited to get to read more.

“Because if you read it will help you learn stuff,” says Grace Lewis, one of the kids at the event.

These popular characters helped too.

“I didn’t know Spiderman was going to be here and I was so surprised that he was here,” says Lewis.

A happiness that Lisa says he is happy to bring.

“I love teaching reading so seeing them here and picking out books and getting excited is very gratifying to me.”

Kids can stop by the library to borrow books and movies. The library is open by appointment only, you can make one by contacting Lisa Heiss via Facebook.
