Democratic candidate for clerk withdraws

The Democratic Party will meet to select a replacement candidate for the County Clerk race Monday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at the Pocatello Elks Lodge, 410 S. Main St.

Any Bannock County Democrat who wishes to be chose to replace Rodriguez must inform the local Democratic Party of their interest by no later than 5 p.m. Friday, June 1.

Bannock County Democratic candidate for County Clerk Kelly “Martinez” Rodriguez has withdrawn from the general election ballot.

According to election officials, he quit the race for personal reasons.

The County Clerk’s Office said Bannock County Democrats will have 15 days to select a replacement for Rodriguez on the November ballot.
