Work begins to improve Rexburg park

HK Construction has begun work on a new toddler playground at the Park Street Park in Rexburg.

City officials said that while it has been well maintained, the park has not been well-used because it lacks playground equipment.

The new design will include a tricycle track with a pretend gas station, an obstacle course, a merry-go-round, typhoon slide, picnic tables and swing set.

Sidewalk will be completed on the Park Street side of the park and a fence will be added along the two streets.

In late June, volunteers will participate in actual construction work.

A number of local businesses have contributed to the project including CHC Foundation, Merrill Quality Landscaping, Let’s Play, Rexburg Motor Sports, Madison Gymnastics Center and the “High Five” grant.
