I.F. Education Foundation awards scholarships

Five Idaho Falls students have been awarded college scholarships through the District 91 Education Foundation. The scholarships were funded by donations from the William J. and Shirley A. Maeck Family Foundation Scholarship and the Odd Felows Memorial Scholarship.

“Bill and Shirley Maeck wanted to make an investment in our community. They wanted to give opportunities to students to help them fulfill their dreams and goals,” said Terri Frickey with the Maeck Family Foundation. “Hopefully, the Maeck Family Foundation Scholarships will give these three deserving students the start needed in order for them to reach those goals.”

Three students from the district’s three high schools were selected.

MaKenna Yarman of Idaho Falls High School won a $5,000 scholarship. Cole Kinghorn of Compass Academy and Nachelle Horn of Skyline High School will receive $2,500 scholarships.

Two Odd Fellows Memorial Scholarships were awarded. Graduating senior Brecklyn Sheldon of Alternative High School was awarded a $5,000 scholarship. District 91 graduate Kayla Campbell, who is attending Idaho State University, was also awarded a $5,000 scholarship.
