Lawmen turn out to support Shelley officer

Scores of law enforcement officers from agencies across eastern Idaho turned out Tuesday afternoon as the body of Shelley Sergeant Kent Swanson was transported from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls to a funeral home in Rigby.

Sgt. Swanson suffered a massive heart attack while responding to a disturbance call Monday night.The “thin blue line” of police officer recognition even spread to Nampa, where an officer with the Nampa Police Department laid a rose at the Idaho Peace Officers’ Memorial.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
