Man arrested after stealing from Zumiez store in Pine Ridge Mall

Chubbuck police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon for theft after he stole from a store inside the mall and ran away.

Police said the man stole more than $100 worth of clothing from Zumiez inside the Pine Ridge Mall in Chubbuck, then he ran off.

The store manager and mall security ended up chasing the man to close by the intersection of Quinn and Ronald roads, where a bystander from Montpelier stepped in and was able to tackle the man. Police arrived shortly after and arrested the man.

He was found with meth and marijuana on him. He was booked into the Bannock County Jail.

His name has not yet been released.

KIFI/KIDK reached out to Pine Ridge Mall and the Pocatello Zumiez store for a statement, but neither was able to comment on an ongoing invetigation.

However, Zumiez did confirm the store was able to get its merchandise back after the man was arrested.
