ISP: Eastern Idaho had a deadly Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day weekend is always pretty busy, and that was no exception for Idaho State Police troopers.

ISP says there were a few deadly crashes in our area, and they were able to stop some crime situations.

“We apprehended a handful of drunk drivers this last week including a lot of drug arrests. Our goal out here is really to apply the look, listen, think philosophy. We were out here intersecting criminal activity, regardless if it’s drunk driving or drug trafficking, we’re always on our toes looking at the surrounding environment, and find out exactly what we have during our traffic stop,” says Lt. Christopher Weadick.

They also say their ‘Click it or Ticket’ campaign has been going well. ISP has teamed up with the Idaho Department of Transportation and other law enforcement agencies.

The campaign goes until June 3rd, so make sure you’re wearing your seatbelt.
