Free admission formilitary personnel and families at Idaho Museum of Natural History
The Idaho Museum of Natural History at Idaho State University is offering free admission to military personnel and their families through Labor Day.
This is made possible because the museum is participating in the ninth annual Blue Star Museums, which is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel and their families.
“As many military families spend the summer months moving from one duty station to another, or reconnecting with a parent who has returned from deployment, Blue Star Museums helps service members and their families create memories,” said Blue Star Families Chief Executive Officer Kathy Roth-Douquet.
Here’s a sneak peek of the museum.
Astronomical Idaho features four of the 12 Martian meteorites and an extremely interactive “Be the Astronaut” video game.
The Incredible Horse exhibit follows the journey of the horse from its beginnings in Idaho, to extinction 12,000 years ago and return in the 16th century.
The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Mondays.
