Yellowstone Park visitation climbs

Higher gas prices did not deter tourists at Yellowstone National Park in May.

The park hosted 446,875 visits in May, which is more than a 6 percent increase over May of last year, which was the busiest May in the park’s history.

For the calendar year, Yellowstone has recorded 570,823 visitors, up 3.5 percent from 2017. Year-to-date visitation is 37 percent higher than it was five years ago.
