IHSRA complete day two of performances
Day two of the Idaho High School Rodeo Finals wrapped up Tuesday night with new leaders in most of the categories.
A lot of impressive performances in the arena throughout the day with the competitors completing tasks in record times.
In the Bareback Riding category, Bruin Bradshaw came into the day with a high school of 70, but was immediately ousted from the 1 spot when Jake Kesl scored a 71 Tuesday morning, Tyler Smith would ride in the evening scoring a 58, all other participants who have ridden thus far have not scored.
In the Pole Bending category, Makayla Searle came into the day with the fastest time of 20.949, but she was quickly passed by Shelbie Allen with a time of 20.729. Allen was later passed by Sydney Ricks with a score of 20.647.
In Steer Wrestling, Cooper Bradshaw brought down the steer on Monday night in a time of 7.790. He was later passed by Gabe Nield in the morning who posted a time of 6.650, but it is Briggs Tolle who nearly completed the task in half the time with a time of 4.610.
In the Goat Tying event, Macey Fillmore took down and tied the goat with a time of 7.660.
On Tuesday night however, it was Paige Bennett who is sitting in first with a time of 7.620, .04 seconds faster.
In the Saddle Bronc event, Russell Kay was the only rider on Monday night to score, getting a 62 for the performance.
Tuesday was a different story as the two legged athletes did a little better than Monday, five cowboys scored in the events as opposed to one.
Cody Weeks earned a top score of 65 in the event and sits in first place out of all the riders on first go.
On Monday night in the Breakaway roping Brylee Smith completed the event in 3.020 seconds.
She was quickly replaced up top on Tuesday night by Ryland Lufkin who is sitting in first after finishing in 2.960 seconds.
In the team roping event Trae Smith and Breck Ward leap frogged Copper Duffin and Chance Moldenhauer for the best time of 6.540 seconds.
In the tie down roping, Trae Smith held the lead in that even after three performances, the time to beat for competitors to lead is 8.650.
In the barrel racing event, Madeline Hall came into the day leading with a 17.888 time, but was quickly replaced by a number of riders, at the end of the day, Paizley Guthrie leads riders in the event with a 17.605.
In the Bull Riding event, Pete Bradshaw is the only bull rider so far to score after lasting 8 seconds and earning a 65 in the event Tuesday night.
