Rally held to protest separation of immigrant families

Dozens of rallies were held around the country today to protest the separation of families at the U.S. – Mexico border. One of those rallies happened in Rexburg tonight.

A group called “Families Belong Together” organized the rally. There were about 30 people with signs discussing the issue. There was also live music and dance performances. People there say they are against children being separated from their immigrant parents.

“We want to make sure that when people come into the country all the families are kept together so that they can come and live in a safe life from the place that they were trying to escape from,” said Eleanor Mechan, a protestor at the rally.
