FCC Chair visits eastern Idaho
Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai made an unannounced visit to eastern Idaho Wednesday.
According to Congressman Mike Simpson, Pai met with officials at the Idaho National Laboratory and the city of Ammon to explore Idaho’s creative expansion of broadband service.
In a statement recorded at Shoshone Falls near Twin Falls, Pai said he was impressed with INL’s research into the future use of 5G technology and with Ammon’s innovate use of “dark fiber” to provide internet access to the community.
