Man pulls knife on victim at bank ATM

UPDATE 2:00 pm: Idaho Falls Police said there was not a robbery at the Wells Fargo bank as earlier reported, but rather an argument where a knife was pulled.

Police say Joseph A. Olson, 51, of Idaho Falls, was arrested on aggravated assault charges.

“The man ended up going to another location and did his transaction but police arrested him there. He was fully compliant, he confessed to what happened and he’s now in jail being charged with aggravated assault,” says Holly Cook, Public Information Officer for Idaho Falls Police Department.

The victim said Olson pulled the knife on him and he went inside the bank to call the police. The tellers hit the button normally used for a bank robbery to call police officers, they said.

No one was injured.
