Trooper killed: “Thoughts and prayers are with the family”

29-year-old New York State trooper Nicholas Clark was killed in the line of duty while responding a suicide call Monday.

State police say 43-year-old Steven Kiley, a school principal, shot and killed Clark.

Kiley also appeared to have taken his own life.

“This is a terrible loss for the new york state police and our thoughts and prayers are with trooper Clark and his family,” said Chris Fiore/New York State Police. “The incident remains under investigation and state police will make additional information available as it comes in.”

Clark is survived by his mother, father and brother.
