UPDATE: House fire causes estimated $100,000 in damages
UPDATE 5:40 p.m. The Idaho Falls Fire Department reports firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to surrounding structures in the area, including other homes and an LDS Church to the west.
The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire.
IFFD reports there were family members inside the home when the fire started who self-evacuated.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Four engines, three ambulances, a battalion chief and four other department chiefs responded to the fire. Intermountain Gas and Idaho Falls Power were also called to the scene to turn off utilities. Law enforcement closed off 12th Street and surrounding side streets for approximately two hours.
The damages are estimated at $100,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
UPDATE: The Susanne Avenue fire has prompted Idaho Falls to close streets in one block in all directions surrounding 12th Street and Susanne Avenue.
UPDATE: Idaho Falls firefighters said they found heavy smoke coming from a shop behind the house when they arrived at the fire. Firemen searched the house but did not find anyone inside.
After the fire is put out, firefighters will initiate an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Multiple Idaho Falls fire crews are responding to a structure fire at 1260 Susanne in Idaho Falls.
Officials say the fire apparently started behind the house.
Traffic is being diverted between Holmes Avenue and Woodruff on 12th Street. Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area.
