Conser found not competent for court proceedings

Jessica Conser, 34, has been ruled incompetent for judicial proceedings in connection with the June 5 murder of her father in Hibbard.

She is charged with first degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 66-year old Mathew Robert Travao III.

Deputy Madison County Prosecutor Rob Wood said Conser’s preliminary hearing, set for July 9, was canceled after a psychologist’s report was delivered to the court on Monday.

Conser will be treated for mental illness until such time as she is determined to be competent to appear for judicial proceedings.

Travao was found shot at his Hibbard home on the night of June 5. He died of his injuries at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Cosner was detained near the Montana line in Clark County later that night.
