Emergency crews rescue stranded boaters
Bonneville County deputies and Idaho Falls Firefighters rescued boaters on the Snake River west of the Idaho Falls Temple. The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
One adult and four children were stranded in their non-motorized boat near Keefer’s Island and could not make it back to shore, according to the Idaho Falls Fire Department.
A firefighter entered the river to help until a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office boat towed the craft back to shore.
