Madison deputies recover body from river near Wilford

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has recovered a body along the Teton River near Wilford.

Sheriff Rick Henry believes the body is that of Justin Keith Grass, 14. The Utah boy has been missing since June 24 when he went missing while swimming with friends near the old Teton Dam site.

According to the Sheriff, fishermen saw the body around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in a large pool area near the Wilford Dam, which is about five miles downstream from the Teton Dam site. Madison and Fremont County deputies and search and rescue personnel are removing the body from the water.

The body will be taken to the Madison County Coroner for identification, but at this time, authorities are confident it is Grass’ body.

Henry said the boy’s family is staying with friends in the Rexburg area. He is pleased that retrieving the boy’s body will help bring some relief to the family.
