Runners dress up for Comic Con Run

Superheroes were super runners today at the Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls.

There was a variety of superheroes such as Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Captain America. The runners were all taking part in the Comic Con 5K Run. The run benefits the Bonneville Youth Development Council. The group helps students work on leadership skills and also focuses on substance abuse prevention.

“Not a lot of people are aware of the issues of substance abuse among our teens,” said Lezhai Gulbransen, executive director of the Bonneville Youth Development Council. “And so, it’s something that we work with directly and we work with our youth so they can work with other youth. So we’re very much about peer-to-peer with our youth. Being able to advocate for a sober activities and really help with things they can develop their leadership and their resiliency skills.”
