Central Fire District lifts burn ban

UPDATE 7/11/18: The Central Fire District has lifted the burn ban issued yesterday as wind conditions are looking more favorable.

Officials say if you are going to be burning, please be aware of the extremely dry fuels and have water and a shovel nearby.

Do not leave any fire unattended.

Jefferson County’s Central Fire District has issued a burn ban for the remainder of the day, Tuesday.

The district said it was taking the action due to weather conditions and current wind speeds.

Under the emergency order, no open burning will be allowed.

The Fire District will re-evaluate conditions on Wednesday.
