Local library keeping kids learning

It’s important to keep kids mentally active in the summer. Today is National Summer Learning Day celebrating keeping kids healthy safe and learning. The Idaho Falls Library strives to keep kids learning with summer programs.

Today kids learned about the body. The theme: Snot and Other Gross Things. Kids got to participate in demonstrations. The goal is to prevent summer slide.

“Then they are sometimes forgetting how to learn. Their brains are trained to learn all through the school year and we want to make sure during the summer they don’t lose those skills,” says Kristina Kunz, Program Director.

The next summer science club is next week July 19th. The theme is Light Dark and Rainbows. It is free, and there is no sign-up.
