Idaho BLM firefighters support national efforts

Idaho Bureau of Land Management fire crews have been dispatched to Nevada to help fight the Martin Fire there. BLM-Idaho has sent its Engine 3471 crew to Nevada. They are among 634 firefighters currently involved in fighting the fire.

At 443,000 acres, the Martin Fire, near Winnemucca, is currently the largest fire in the United States. Crews from across the country are involved in fighting that fire.

The Pocatello “Very Large Air Tanker” has been used to support firefighting activity in Utah, Nevada and in the local area.

So far, the Pocatello Air Tanker Base has pumped 329,772 gallons of retardant to support fire activity.
