Japanese companies look to Idaho for new opportunities

A half a dozen Japanese small businesses are interested in developing partnerships in Idaho.

This week several of the company representatives are traveling around the state to take tours of local businesses and learn new tools. The companies have a general interest in food manufacturing and the equipment used.

“We already have 100 companies, and I think we can bring them how to do business in Idaho,” said Nakahara Koichirou, of the electronic circuit board manufacturer, Tec.

Tec has already begun working on a new project to produce a new type of potato based-distilled alcohol.
