Rexburg Police charge two for funeral scam

Rexburg Police arrested two women Thursday for begging for money under false pretenses.

According to police, Chastity Doll, 27, of North Dakota and Michele Love, 42, of California were defrauding people by holding up a sign and asking for money. It was determined that their claims to be raising money for the funeral of a niece were untrue.

Love was found in possession of Hydrocodone, a Schedule II narcotic. Both were charged with misdemeanor “theft by false pretense”. Love was also charged with felony possession of Hydrocodone without a prescription, a felony.

Police said the women admitted traveling across country from California by scamming money from people.

Both women were being held in the Madison County Jail.
