Missing Swimmer’s body found after late night search

UPDATE July 14, 2018, 4:30p: St. Anthony police says Jaunito D. Augustin, 22, of New York City, drowned while swimming at the St Anthony sandbar.

At approximately 9:05 p.m., Augustin jumped off a diving board into the river and didn’t resurface, according to a posting on the St. Anthony Police’s Facebook page.

His body was found around 2 hours later, 30 feet below the water, 50 yards down river from the diving board.

He was attending BYU-Idaho, they said.

Emergency crews are searching the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River for a missing swimmer.

Fremont County dispatchers say a report came in late Friday evening of a missing male swimmer near the Keefer Park swim area of the river in St. Anthony.

Viewers in the area said they could see a helicopter circling the area over the river. There is a active search with lights and authorities along the riverbed.

Dispatchers couldn’t release any more information, including a description or name of the missing male.
