Local kids donate lemonade stand money

It’s a common way for kids to make some money but three local kids set up a lemonade stand and raised some funds for a good cause.

Siblings Kyah and Keon Cole and their cousin Maleke Lewis decided to earn some money this summer.

“So, we were selling lemonade, pink lemonade, sprite, and orange soda, we had chips, candy and we had cookies,” says Kyah.

They say they earned over 100 dollars. But what the kids decided to do with half of the money may surprise you.

“We split half of the money and gave the other half to the animal shelter and the other half we split between the three of us,” says Kyah.

They say their love for animals is what lead them to do it. They realize it’s a pretty good feeling to give.

“I felt proud,” says Maleke and Keon.

“Yeah, I felt good and happy,” says Kyah.

They were able to donate over 60 dollars to the shelter which was much appreciated. The three cousins say that they hope to open another stand very soon.
