UPDATE: 1 killed, 1 injured in I-15 crash

UPDATE 5:15 p.m. Idaho State Police report one person was killed and one person was injured in a vehicle crash southbound on Interstate 15 at approximately milepost 155, north of Hamer, around 1:20 p.m.

Officials report Veronica Hormuth, 63, of Santa Ana, CA, was driving southbound in a 2005 Lexus SUV when she fell asleep, drifted off of the left side of the roadway, over-corrected and then rolled the vehicle.

Her passenger Steven Hormuth, 68, of Santa Ana, CA, was ejected and succumbed to his injuries.

Air ambulance transported Veronica Hormuth to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Both occupants were wearing the lap portion of their seat belts.

Officials said next of kin has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation.

All lanes are now open.

Idaho State Police report a crash has blocked the left, southbound on Interstate 15 at milepost 155 near Hamer.

Life flight was called to the accident.

Officials say the road will be blocked for a while as units investigate the crash.
