Idaho unemployment holds steady at 2.9 percent

Idaho’s unemployment rate in June remained unchanged from the previous month at 2.9 percent.

The Idaho Department of Labor on Friday says it’s the 10th consecutive month Idaho’s unemployment rate has been at or below 3 percent.

The agency says the number of people in the state age 16 or older working or looking for work is at 851,599.

The agency says 827,084 Idahoans are employed, and 24,515 are seeking work.

The labor force participation rate remained steady at 63.9 percent.

Madison County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest at 1.6 percent.
