Man hospitalized after 3 vehicle crash on I-15

UPDATE 5:15 p.m. A ground ambulance transported 77-year-old Weiser resident William N. Rice to Portneuf Medical Center after a three-vehicle crash on I-15 at milepost 81, near the Burns Road overpass Monday.

ISP reports a surveyor crew had the right lane blocked, and traffic was restricted to the left lane.

Madison K. Harris, 21, of Carmichael, California, was traveling northbound in a 2002 Subaru on I-15 when she attempted to change lanes and struck Rice who was traveling northbound in a 2016 Ford Focus, from the side.

Rice then hit a semi, driven by Forrest W. Hurst, 24, of Declo, from behind.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The lanes were blocked for approximately one hour and forty minutes.

UPDATE 1:15 p.m.: Idaho State Police reports the northbound lanes of travel are now open.

ORIGINAL 12:40 p.m.: Idaho State Police is investigating a three-vehicle crash northbound on Interstate 15 at milepost 81 near Fort Hall.

The right lane of travel is currently blocked for the investigation of the crash.

Officials say to expect delays.
