Wyoming announces big game raffle winners
Ten hunters won a Wyoming Game and Fish Department raffle last weekend to hunt for bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goat, elk, wild bison, deer, pronghorn, black bear, gray wolf, and mountain lion.
In addition, one Super Tag Trifecta winner gets to choose any three of those hunts and another is awarded a package with top-of-the line hunting equipment and apparel.
Of the 12 winners, only three live in Wyoming.
The raffle generated $913,550 for conservation programs this year. Since it was created by Governor Matt Mead and the Wyoming Legislature in 2013, the raffle has generated $3.7 million for wildlife management.
“Funds generated from Super Tag sales are a benefit hunters and wildlife alike. Super Tag sales contribute to the Game and Fish general fund that helps pay for projects like the Wyoming Mule Deer Initiative, big game migration corridor designations and chronic wasting disease monitoring,” said Game and Fish Director Scott Talbott. “Thank you, hunters, for supporting Wyoming’s wildlife.”
This year, the state sold 70,145 tickets, an 11 percent increase over last year.
