Wrapping traffic cabinets downtown

Downtown Idaho Falls is about to get even prettier. The Public Art Committee and Downtown Development are launching a project to wrap traffic cabinets around downtown.

The art will come from local artists in the private collection of the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho. It is seen in a lot of bigger cities and they are excited to bring it here.

“This is years and years in the making the public art committee has been working hard, the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho has been working hard building their collection. Because of those local artists allowing us to use their artwork to do this. We’ve also secured funding through the CHC Foundation and the Idaho Falls Historic Foundation. So it’s been fundraising, grant writing,” says Catherine Smith, with Downtown Development.

They also plan to add murals downtown. Those are still in the early stages.
